  5. Most of Corel Ventura's functions are controlled through the menus 
  6. at the top of the screen. This section describes the operation of 
  7. some of these menus and the options within them. These commands are 
  8. presented in the order in which they appear on the screen. Use the 
  9. index for an alphabetical reference to these commands.
  10.  
  11. @HEADING 3 = Menu Conventions
  12.  
  13. Often, a menu option will be shown in gray and cannot be highlighted. 
  14. This usually indicates that the proper function has not been selected. 
  15. The table below indicates these dependencies.

  57. The File Menu (See Figure <$R[C#,File menu]1><196><$R[P#,File menu]1>)controls 
  58. information flow into and out of Ventura Publisher.
  59.  
  60. The File Menu provides five basic functions:
  61.  
  62. @INSTRUCTION = You can save or retrieve the entire chapter 
  63.  
  64. @INSTRUCTION = You can Load individual text, Line Art, or Image files 
  65. into the chapter 
  66.  
  67. @KEY NOTE TEXT = If the file name is not shown, you may have saved 
  68. the chapter with an extension (the part of the file name to the right 
  69. of the period) different than the default .CHP file extension used 
  70. by Corel Ventura, or the file may be saved in a different subdirectory. 
  71. Change either the default extension on the Directory line in the Item 
  72. Selector, or change the subdirectory.

  74. To copy a file, type:

  76. @COMPUTER TEXT = COPY A:FILE1.TXT C:FILE2.TXT
  77.  
  78. This will aimultaneously copy and rename the file.
